The Widget Workshop

The Widget Workshop is the gallery where creators publish custom widgets and you install widgets made by others. Open it from Widget Workshop in the sidebar.

Anything you install shows up under Add Widget → Custom widgets in the Overlay Editor, ready to drop onto any overlay and configure just like a built-in Primitive.

Browse and Installed​

The Workshop has two tabs:

  • Browse — discover published widgets. With no search active you get curated rows:
    • Trending — most-installed by the community lately.
    • Newest — recently published widgets.
    • Recently updated — freshly re-published by their authors.
  • Installed — the widgets you currently have installed (plus your own published widgets).

Start typing in the search box, or pick a category, and the curated rows give way to a filtered, sortable result list (sort by Relevance, Trending, Newest or Updated).

Widget cards​

Each widget in the gallery shows a banner, a thumbnail, its name, the author credit, its category, and a short description. Widgets published under a non-default licence also show a licence badge. Click a card to open its detail page, where you'll find the full description, the live events it uses, when it was published, and the Install button.

Installing​

Click Install on a card or detail page and the widget is added to your account immediately — no rebuild, no overlay reload. It then appears under Add Widget → Custom widgets. Full walkthrough: Installing widgets.

Install limits

On free plans the Workshop shows an install meter (for example Installs: 3 / 10). When you hit your plan's limit, uninstall something you're not using or upgrade your plan to install more. Your own published widgets and the Primitives never count against this limit.

Updates are automatic​

When an author publishes a new version of a widget you've installed, your live overlays pick it up automatically — there's no version to re-install and nothing to pin. You always render the latest published version. (More in Installing widgets → Updates.)

Private widgets and share codes​

Not every widget is in the public gallery. A creator can hand you a share code (it looks like CW-XXXXX) to install a widget that isn't publicly listed — handy for testing, commissions, or sharing within a team. Paste it into the share-code box in the Workshop header. See Share codes.
